Their 375 grind has a stock sounding idle. I would suggest adding their heavier springs.

Their 338 grind requires different lifters, adjusters, and springs. At idle you be able to tell that the cam is not stock.

Over bore of .010 - .030 is not a huge factor with HP. I would just bore it out to what is required to clean it up, leave room for a future rebuild if need be.

In the class I run my tractor in you can’t go more then a 330 lift cam. And that is what I bought from Vogel. And I have  1.380” 45 Dey valves I ran in it. I’m not sure about the valves spring though. Also porting and polishing really helps. Even to gain 3 horsepower is a big deal.

New question, what is the difference between a Carter #26 and #30? This 14hp has a #30, but I've only ever seen #26. I might just be plain dumb, but I've never seen one.

30 has a bigger throat, a.k. more air, more power.

Here is what we are working with. I got this mystery K-321 at an estate sale for $5, not off a WH.  It was a turquoise green and had a push button starter on it, so I can only guess it was supposed to be something for industrial work? It had a #30 carb on it with NO varnish. I mean this thing is GLEAMING! I pop the head of and there is no carbon or anything? No oil? My guess is that it's N.O.S? Anyway I need to pull the oil pan off and its GLUED on there, how do I go about this?

More on this! Got the shell pulled out today to do a little service to it. Drained the trans and taught it to do WHackrobatics! It was pretty much all water as you would guess. On this motor, @Achto or @TonyToro Jr. could you give me some more insight on this cam biz? I have to run stock valves, and my max lift is .330, but I can run heavier springs, any recommendations?

If you are having Vogel Machining rework your cam, then I would follow their recommendations for which ever cam grind that you choose.

The V338 require lifters and springs

The V375 requires springs if you plan to run more than 3800RPMs

Thanks! Ive been putting it together today, but with a different motor. I'd like to have it ready for this season and then swap the motor for next season. I just need to dip my toes in the water so I can make adjustments and changes to it for the next motor. Here are some pictures of what it is now and some show just how clean that motor really is!

P.S. Don't worry about the hood, its a WHrat puller!

May have been on a generator. Not all of them use a tapered shaft. Turquoise green is also common on several brands of fixed generators.

I've picked up a couple engines that had a propane diffuser in front of the carb and they looked like brand new internally.

You should have bought a lottery ticket on the way home!
