cleat 7,736 #127 Posted 1 hour ago Lower steering shaft support block ready to install. Block has new bronze bushings installed top and bottom. Bolts are 1-1/2" long and fit perfect even though parts manual calls for 1-3/4". Lower steering shaft showing slotted nut. Nut removed from lower steering shaft then shaft greased where it slides into block. Block slid onto lower steering shaft then bolted to frame. Bolts torqued to 30 ft/lb. Grease fitting installed. Never seize applied to shaft threads then washer and nut loosely installed. Overview of steering assembly as installed. 1 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I used Home Hardware brand international harvester red for most of the tractor parts either by spray gun or using aerosol cans for small parts. For areas where a higher quality finish is requires such as the rear fender and the hood (which will be next summer), I used Tremclad farm and implement international harvester red.
