I used Home Hardware brand international harvester red for most of the tractor parts either by spray gun or using aerosol cans for small parts. For areas where a higher quality finish is requires such as the rear fender and the hood (which will be next summer), I used Tremclad farm and implement international harvester red. Of course I used primer made by the same manufacturer under the paint applied. For the black I use Home Hardware gloss or semi-gloss as required. 1

cleat 7,771 #140 Posted Monday at 01:38 PM I'm sorry if this assembly is taking too long. I am really working hard to pace myself to make it last as it is my winter project. Keeps me in the shop out of my Wife's hair (not that she minds my company I'm sure).

Funny you would bring that up because I was thinking this morning you're going a little too fast. Going to need another project by the end of winter.

cleat 7,771 #143 Posted Monday at 03:44 PM I do have two more on the back burner, a 312-8 and a 314H. Problem is that the cleanup and paint requires warmer weather so one of those will be next years project.
cleat 7,771 #144 Posted 4 hours ago (edited) Hoodstand ready to be installed. Hoodstand bolts ready. I ended up just using 10 of the shorter bolts, the longer ones were not needed. Hoodstand and foot control auto-center lever ready to be installed. Hoodstand sat into position on frame and two front lower bolts screwed in to hold it in position. All the lower side bolts screwed in finger tight then the top left bolts were screwed in finger tight. This will properly align the hoodstand. The foot control auto-center lever is now ready to be installed. Picture shows slightly longer bolts (7/8") but these were not required so I used the same length bolts as in the rest of the hoodstand (5/8"). Foot control auto-center lever installed. All 10 hoodstand mounting bolts including the ones in the foot control auto-center lever torqued to 17 ft/lb. The 1/4" pivot bolt in the foot control auto-center lever is just tightened enough to not have any side to side play but must pivot freely. Thank you. I may have both of those tools but I've never connected the two so I don't know if one will clamp on the other okay.
