Sundstrand 90-1136 v 90-1140 interchangeable?

The hoses you have have number five fittings on them so you would need a #6 male to #5 female adapter to get them to work

The hoses I bought have larger fittings than will fit into the control head. They fit fine at the pump.

FYI to aide in identifying fittings

 

SAE# 5 ORB have 1/2" NF Threads  20 TPI

 

SAE# 6 ORB    9/16" NF Threads  18 TPI

It looks like these adapters will work nicely to go from ORB-6 down to ORB-5.

 

Any advice on how to purge the air from the system?  I'll probably finish assembling tonight.

Should self purge. 

Just use the up/down a few times and drive around. 

Check and top off fluid.

Once I get it working good, I think I have engineered a way lift my MightyMac (engineered in my head, at least) :laughing-rolling:

I will need to take it apart again to address a small leak at the end of the cylinder, but it's not so bad that it can't wait awhile. Somewhere on the site is post on a hack to add an external o-ring and washer.

 

Also needs a proper roll pin for the handle.  All in all, a much easier project than I anticipated.

In order to fit the mechanicals into the small space on the tractor, WH decided to use the “retract” motion of the cylinder rod for the “heavy” lift. This puts more fluid pressure on the rod end of the cylinder and works that O-ring seal harder.
