Kinda mean lookin and the like the originals ... I agree, no offense to people that have done different things to the headlights of the 60's/70's tractors but most of them just don't look good. The lense was too far gone, cracked and missing corners. And I didn't want to throw away a chrome horse lense, so it's the idea I came up with to incorporate that into a modern light.

Well now it's in the custom category because of the headlight, and couple fingerprints in the paint I will do everything I can to get this tractor to plow day and plow with it. No worries its back in the basement

AlexR 2,597 #284 Posted Saturday at 10:43 PM Got the bore of the engine checked with the cylinder still in its out of round .003 and over the max wear limit by .003 and tapered about .002 which is the limit as well. The balancer gear bearings are definitely bad as well I was able to visibly see and feel wobble. Still gotta check the crank if it's good I can use the other block I have which is just in spec and use this crank. If not I will run this engine as is minus the balancer gears. Don't have time to get anything machined before plow day.

All 3 things wear out and it causes exponential issues.

Just noticed that they were loose so it was a ticking time bomb

On a 12hp you won't notice much of a difference. 14 and 16hp have a little more thump when the gears are removed (longer throw on the crank and bigger piston) but it isn't terrible in most cases. My Bronco 14 has no balance gears and I don't think it's bad at all.

Isn't the crank and rod on the 12 and 14 the same, just the bore size is different? I thought the 12 and 14 were sorta interchangeable and the 16 was the odd duck. AlexR 2,597 #293 Posted 2 hours ago (edited) Everything I have read said 12 and 14 cranks are interchangeable Obviously the 16 head and block are different and I haven't heard about being able to interchange those cranks. Edited 2 hours ago by AlexR
