C-125 Plastic Seat Pan Swap to Metal

I have a very good plastic seat pan on my C125 and my dad is having trouble swinging his leg over it.  Was wondering if this can be swapped over to metal?  Also would this plastic version be worth anything as it is not all cracked up.  It just has some scratches and branch scrapes on the edges.
