Fordiesel69 219 #1 Posted April 10 Got a junk Sears / Suburban tractor that a tenant left behind. Before selling it whole, would this engine be any kind of an acceptable candidate to repower a Wheel Horse 300 / 400 / 500 series?
JoeM 7,673 #2 Posted April 10 I would say it doesn't have a thrust washer on the crank for use with a mechanical PTO. Could be used with an electric clutch. Other then that could be a strong runner, and of a different thought is the parts, especially the ignition module. It alone is worth a few coins.
Bill D 1,619 #3 Posted April 10 What engine? Pictures? Tough question to answer without knowing what engine it has.
lynnmor 6,802 #4 Posted April 12 (edited) It probably has a thrust bearing but no oil filter. You need to check the distance from the mounting bolts to the PTO Edited April 12 by lynnmor
