Not clear but connects the throttle and the idle.on top of carburetor

I always wind up taking the carb off.  or you can remove the governor arm but then you have to check the adjustment per the manual.

I usually pop the governor arm off, ive reset them so many times it nothing, but you slip it on, hold the carb to wide open, then turn the little shaft in the center counter clockwise til it stops, then while still holding the carb wide open, tighten the pinch nut down.

Hey guys got it on amd it works great!!

Question i need a belt. Here it is tried to look it up and can't find replacement.  Looks like belt small on side.

 

I need to replace drive belt as well but it has no numbers.

The drive belt for your 856 is Wheel Horse # 8005 which is a 4L-720, a 72" long by 1/2" wide fabric covered belt. A Tractor Supply 1/2 X 72 will work fine.

Your Starter/Generator belt should ba a cogger rubber edged 3/8" by 32" belt. NAPA 25-7320 should be the one.
