Some days having an office on wheels is just the ticket! 😁

Posted (edited)

Just returned home from the family farm.  Spent couple of days getting farm ready for winter.  The corn has been harvested.  So we brush hogged the waterways, sprayed brush that invaded the cropland and started brush hogging the corn stubble.  I had a picture of my brother kicking up dust behind the brush hog but thought our granddaughter driving was more entertaining.  She wasn't actually in control, as my brother was trying to make himself invisible.  That girl would be just fine living on a farm.  Something she'll never likely be able (afford) to do.  At  one time 180 acres was a sizeable farm.  Now, the man who plants and harvests our crops tills 2,500 of his own

acres.

I'm retired. This is the view from my 'office.'

Nice, very nice.

Maybe some day just sitting and doing nothing will be doing something

Usually when I feel like "doing nothing," my spousal unit says "nothing doing," and hands me her honey-do list.

I try to sneak down to the dock at least once a week to make sure the chair is still in good working order and carry out extensive taste tests on local brewery products. Sometimes I even 'maintain a lookout' (for what, I don't know, but it's an easy job).

“Not to decide is to decide"

In retirement, thankfully, we typically get more control over how to spend our time.

I love being retired. I have a hard time relating to people who retire and then complain about being bored. I always have at least half a dozen interesting (to me) projects of my own choosing going on simultaneously.

BTW, I like to kid about my wife's 'honey-do' list. She's a retired career lady who appreciates the fact that I value my time as much as she values hers. :)

Working in Point Loma/San Diego California today…this is the sunrise taken from the roof of the building I’m working at. Not exactly an “office” but no phones or cameras allowed inside so this is what I can share
