D-200 rear weight removed, help with suggestions on improving

Recommended Posts

bo dawg

I managed to remove the heavy weight contraption off the rear of the tractor. PO said it weighed approx 400 lbs. It does serve a purpose but it was so ugly. Id like to do something a bit neater and paint it up.

It doesnt have any 3 point due to the previous PO gutted it all off from the controller back. Im told it use to have a backhoe on it.

I wish it did have all the 3 point system but I guess its not necessary.

So with that being said, anyone have a good idea how to create something better to easily mount and un mount when needed for the rear weight?

It looks so much better with it off. Lol. I didnt take a good pic when it was installed.

Good looking tractor!

This may not be the cheapest, but i would look for the missing 3 point stuff. the ram mount looks to be cut off the left upright, can the lower arms be cut off that box thingy?

I don't know if this particular one is still available, but it's a good visual of what you need.  They are still out there, piecing one together is more expensive than finding one like this.....

, but

Lower arms are cut off at the ends and welded to the home made box. But not only is it missing the 3 point pieces It doesnt have the hydraulic controler or the the lines.

I was originally looking to get everything, but now I'm thinking just to create a better fixed way to mount weight on the back.

@bo dawg  in addition to enhancing / engaging as much of the rear frame area ,much stronger  mount point , don't forget the  more weight extends away from frame , the greater the stress, also use some anti vibration padding , at contact areas . would also make an easy lift in place point , for a chain lift . like those  chain ratchet  https://www.amazon.com/SALUINOKI-1650lbs-Ratchet-Puller-Lifting/dp/B0B96XZQMX/ref=asc_df_B0B96XZQMX/?tag=hyprod-  HARBOUR FREIGHT often has these on sale , hook mine up to a nylon lift strap , quick / easy , Pete

Ok, I thought it through, I am going to use the mounting base by just cutting off the basket part of this structure. All I'll have is the 6" plate off the back which then I can stack the yellow colored plates up on and secure. Pluss along with the other 2 big zero turn gray weights all in one stack. Paint it all black to match the loader. I think will suffice. Dont look like much but those things are heavy as Heck!

I will take more pics as I go.
