snowhound 103 #1 Posted November 16, 2023 (edited) I pulled the bad starter from my GT1800 but there aren't any numbers on it. I searched for a starter for a Briggs 422437 0663 01 at Jacks and two are listed but I have no idea which one is correct, can anyone tell me what the correct part number is? I went to a different parts sight and found the information I needed. There are two case lengths and the one I took off is the shorter one. My problem is the motor turned over very slowly and was drawing a lot from the battery. I have no history on the tractor and because there are no numbers or manufactures information on the starter I removed I believe it is a replacement not the original. Since there is room should I go with the larger starter? Edited November 16, 2023 by snowhound Found additional information.
RED-Z06 2,122 #2 Posted November 16, 2023 If there's room for it..id go larger. These engines always suffered high draw and weak starters
