Awesome!  I bet a little soap and water wet sanding and that thing would have PURDY popping out of it everywhere!

The one I’m sitting on, I wet sanded and buffed and it brought a ton of paint out of the rust that was on it.

Had an old buddy who said it best: if it's got any compression at all, it will run! :)

Wheelhorse#1 I have had many of these. Kept some sold most. Hard to beat these K181`s. Enjoy the ride. Looking forward to seeing more picks when done.

Yes Sir .This is my second b80 other is a 4 speed I use to cut the lawn and yard work, the k181s are a breeze to wrench on and little power houses for their size.

Any idea what year? I have a '73 which is a no name but since a front runner to a B I call her Aunt B. Just had to give it a home for only a franklin...

I shoulda’ took her for a stroll in the food plot, see how that 8 pulled a plow.  Did anyone run her into the dirt yet?

see if this old girl will run.    It will run, but if it smokes I spy a big and small block Kohler looking for something to jump into!

The one above  is ‘76.

Yours Looks very nice and in great shape.

Bigger rear tires make all the difference in my opinion. They Ride better and look cool .👍

Today I gave it a good pressure wash.I think it cleaned up pretty well 👍

Brought it in and tore into it.Had no spark, cleaned up the points, issue solved.

Replaced the head gasket, was blown out pretty bad but the cylinder looked great and no piston slop at all 😮

I think I may have gotten lucky on this one. It’s always a crap shoot with a non runner.

I think the trans is ok but won’t know for sure until tomorrow once I get it running.

That’s a great compression reading!

I would think a 1976 k181 would have the compression release cam.
So how did you get an engine compression reading?

School me!

I did in the junior field but never got a chance in the big field. Plowed good but have a lift issue to sort out.

The newer small blocks did not have ACR with the ring gear bendix set up.

I have a couple newer  bendex ones that have ACR.

I guess its just like balance gears, some had them, some didn't.
