48 in mowing deck zerk fitting keeps getting damaged

I have Two tractors with 48 in mowing decks and the lift arm keeps wiping out the center zerk  fitting . I do mow with the deck at the highest settings sometimes and this is when it iis getting damaged anymore else have this issue if so how did you fix the issue    thanks in advance

Looking at the above attachment, figure 4, make sure you have the washer #3 and hairpin cotter #4 installed.

That keeps the lift arm in position and your grease fitting will not get damaged.

@cleat  agree with you on the functional detailing , have very often , corrected / improved an original set up , ex , have regularly added washers / lubricant , and more to make a problem area to go away , pete

What model is your tractor?  Some older models don't have a hole in the lift arm for a hairpin cotter.  I've had to drill a hole in the lift arm on both my GT 1642 and GT1800 for the hairpin cotter.

I replace the center zerk with a plug and put the zerk in to grease.

I added another washer to the lift pin to get the lift bar off the zerk.
