restoring a 1968 Commander 6

what goes in the center of the steering wheel? Mine is empty. Also I need the original key starter switch.

I believe that this is the steering wheel insert that you need. They also offer one that is 2" diameter.

Providing that you have a starter solenoid, this Indak key switch would suit your needs. Or any other Indak switch that as an "S" and an "M" terminal on it. Your may have to reconfigure the plug for the switch.

Here is a link to the owner's manual and other helpful information on your Commando. The Toro part number for the correct switch is 101482 and they can be found on :techie-ebay:
