The only other possibility I can think of would be a badly internally leaking cylinder that prevents it from filling (& mixing) properly.. I'll find out soon. If not tomorrow, next week. Donna & I, her sister & brother-in-law are going to "Boardwalk Rock" in Ocean City, MD this weekend.
