rmaynard 14,932 #3 Posted June 11, 2023 First, be sure that you have sufficient brake lining to properly stop the tractor. Loosen or tighten the nut on the brake band rod until you can achieve full braking and still have the brake pedal in a comfortable position. You NEED the drive belt guard to be installed for proper belt control to allow you to shift. NO shifting while in motion - stop, pick the desired gear and slowly let the pedal up... you need to stop to go to reverse... pedal part way down is clutch, all the way is brake (with clutch).
