My dad had one, too.  Lots track of it though.  No it sure where it got off to.

 

Does that one have a slotted cap in the end of the handle?  If so, there might be some other bits hiding in the handle.

It’s a good quality tool. They did not make inferior tools during that period particularly Stanley. The Handyman series was a little less expensive and geared towards the casual user but quality was just as good. More useful than the full size versions of it. I use several all the time. There is actually an accessory available for them so you can use any type of bit with it such as Phillips , Torx, etc. When I get back home I’ll post a photo of it.

Just the spring - no additional bits.

The ones that have additional bits stored in handle are the push drills and not the Yankee screwdrivers. Screwdrivers will either hear a spring or not. I use one without the spring for certain functions. 

 

 

These are the tips available for the screwdrivers making them able to be used with any type screw. They come in two different sizes since Yankee drivers have two different size tips.

I dunno, but sources on "the street" indicate he was screwing around when there was work to be done.
