Only once before I've been able to do this. :P I have to thank JSCHAHL (Jason) for the lead on this one  Worked out near perfect was over 300 miles from home but only 31 from where I had to go.. :D

Real nice shape the pics on MTF didn't do it justice.

All it needs is cleaning and a good buffing to make it shine

Duane

PS While I was after this one my son picked up 312-8 First for him (gotta get him a junior license) for 20 bucks only needs a new fender pan

Nice score Duane. I saw that on MTF, and figured it would get snatched up quick!

I was just going to ask if that was your red hauler that the giver posted. This couldn't have worked out better for you, sounds like perfect timing! Congratulations, and don't forget the pictures here....

Great score Duane!

From following the thread at MTF, it seems the PO was actually pleased to give the tractor a new lease on life. Great story all around!

I saw that picture also--in the back of the Red truck--and even considering the cost of fuel--still a good score!

Take care....

As the PO of this tractor I can say it has always given good service. Of course now it needs an oil change due to not having one at the end of the last season. It's used to 30 weight oil.

It also needs to have the idler pulley on the drive belt checked.

The engine broke it's con rod in 2002. When I went to replace it the young squirt behind the counter told me the engine had been over revved which caused the failure. I pointed out that it was thirty years old but that cut no ice with his pea brain. Aluminum rod - twenty eight years hard service - you gotta expect something would let go. The engine was never over revved.

So I checked the piston and cylinder and they were within spec so the engine got just the rod and new rings. Been running like a champ ever since.

Steve, .

That was a very generous offer on the Commando, and it was in really nice condition. When I saw your post on MTF I pulled up mapquest and was  you are clear across NY (I'm 60 miles north of NYC).

Do you have any other Wheel Horses, we'd love to see em if you do!

Steve,

I also want to  I agree with Karl, very generous of you to let this tractor go to someone who will appreciate it as much as you had.

And don't be shy about posting, especially pictures.
