i do not now how to type in the big box but i cant set my govenours right on thhis tractor

:confusion-shrug:   What makes you think a governor causes misfiring?     Spark timing (points setting) is the likely problem.

I'd had that thought too. Or the wire. Or condenser. 

But that looks like a replacement engine. 

Might not even have points.

If you are shutting down the engine from full or 3/4 throttle, idle the engine down and let it run for a moment before turning off the key.  Could be too much gas in the cylinder. :eusa-think:
