416 to 315 tires

Recommended Posts

I have a 315-8 and I would like to put tires off a 416-h on it. Will they fit? They are an inch wider but the off set on the rims from center looks close.  I want to load them with windshield washer fluid and put some chains on them for plowing but leave the original tires alone for mowing.

Do the 416-h tires have tubes in them?? You will need tubes to use the windshield winter juice to keep from rotting the rims.

As @ebinmaine will tell you - if you have no tubes in those tires - you CAN get them filled with RimGard - aka "beet juice". Will not rot the rims, environmentally friendly if one gets a flat. More expensive than w/w juice - but it is also heavier than the blue w/w fluid - about 10 lbs per gallon, vs. 7 or so. Only available installed at a distributor - you may or may not have one nearby.....

Filled tires & 2 link chains work great...

Thanks for the "mention" Bill.

Up here the Rimguard is often LESS expensive than WW fluid.

As far as a dealer, contact the Rimguard corporation and they're happy to help you find a distributor.

They have tubes so I think I'll do the washer fluid weight. Thanks for the insight I never knew that washer fluid would rot out the rims. Glad I didn't make that mistake.
