stevasaurus 22,197 #1 Posted July 25, 2009 gents...I have a HT55C on a 502 that I am trying to get started. Got compresion, changed oil and it might start if the recoil would enguage more than the last 6 inches of the pull. I pulled off the recoil piece and found a piece that is supposed to joilt out and enguage the flywheel when you pull the rope I took the 2 screw out that hold a cover over this piece...has a small spring attached to the cover and a piece of metal, about an inch long that looks (from the top) like a coma. The coma part looks like it could be worn where it fits in the cover...I cleaned and WD-40'd the parts and put it back together. The mechanisem works until I put the recoil back on the flywheel. If I jiggle the rope a little, the cog catches and I can give the engine a good pull. Question...is the trouble the cog piece and if so ...can I get one somewhere. The teeth on the flywheel look OK, and the recoil spring on the pull rope is good. thanks
