I think you have a 1987 machine.

The belt you have is an inch too long. The Wheel Horse number is # 108 501, I have had good luck with the Tractor Supply Kevlar belts, 82" long by 5/8" wide which also goes by 5L-820 or B-79.

This is the belt I use on my 1990 312Hydro.   This has the Eaton 1100 transmission.

Your 1987 312A has the Eaton 700 transmission and may take a different length belt.

I buy all my belts from TSC and when in doubt about the size, I buy several and return the ones that I don't use.

Oh, :text-welcomeconfetti: to the  :rs:
