https://www.bestmaterials.com/detail.aspx?   have a commercial building going up near you ? flat roof?   many years ago picked up a  5x8  end piece , when looking over a recent shop build . added some bronze grommets to it for  stretch cords and have it on my gas grill outside , 15 + years . zero wear , no cracking splitting , nothing showing any damage , grill snug / protected . compared to the vinyl garbage sold today , that falls apart in no time . might check around with a build contractor , at roofing time for  scrap pieces .  EPDM is made for rubber roofing , truly bombproof , only a suggestion , pete
