grinchsr 647 #1 Posted October 24, 2022 I have a 51 micron fuel filter I want to install on an Onan. Would that cause too much strain for the pump?

Just think what happens when the inlet valve (needle & seat) is closed, that is a complete blockage.

Pullstart 66,690 #4 Posted October 24, 2022 I don’t know the answer to the question, but keep in mind there is a difference between blockage BEFORE and blockage AFTER the pump. Needle and seat is blocking the pump’s flow, but it is NOT starving the pump.

RED-Z06 2,567 #10 Posted October 25, 2022 I try to run a filter before and after the pump..never put much thought into micron size except i try to go fine...any filter will free flow more than an engine could ever consume
