She’s a 1982 C-85 in incredible shape. Ran the Kohler numbers and it’s the original power plant. Runs good, fires right up. High and low range checked out. The 36” RD is solid and quiet. Tires are all matching and in nice shape. Battery is brand new. AND!!!! The worlds ugliest rear fender is mint

Three days at the show and hardly had a chance to get around but I did get some pictures! It was a very memorable and very appreciated show this year! Thank you to the Wheel Horse Collector’s Club and all the volunteers! 103 Photos posted so hang in there!

Each year the hard working leadership of the Wheel Horse Collectors Club produces an amazing gathering. I snapped a few pictures to share with everyone. @c-series don received recognition for his contribution to the hobby and celebrated his birthday at the show. Workhorse feature tractors were at the head of the line, even the pink one. Short5 ones Long ones Not all were red It was good to see @Mrs. Rules and @AMC RULES @Mike'sHorseBarn and @Handy Don were everywhere @Pullstart had a Kickstart that became a Won't Start so Rylee attempted to Yank Start it but it remained a Won't Start until Uncle Dan @Achto solved the problem. @squonk. @rjg854, @Achto, @WHX?? and @AMC RULES were solving the world's problems. Mine was not the only A-60 Electric at the show @Horse Newbie and his brother made the show This young man went through two tanks of gas and loved his Ahooga Horn.

First my apologies to have sort of disappeared and to those who contacted me some I think without a response. Life has thrown quite a few obstacles in front of us and we have been stumbling, tripping and trying to get up for some time now. It’s been event after event and time has just flown over our heads during all of it. Finally little by little we are achieving some sort of normality if one can call it that. As I learned at a young age from a great man, “ you don’t make plans for your life, life will make them for you. I miss not having being here, sometimes having attempted but all the preoccupations taking always over and preventing that and many other things which were part of my daily life. Hopefully now I can get some of it on track starting with attending our beloved show later this week. Looking forward to see everyone.

I’m 31 miles from home and stopping to top off the petrol tanks. I even stopped in Sandusky, Ohio and picked up a pretty cool walk behind Jacobson sickle mower to deliver to Portage next month!

Decided to take the '47 sedan delivery out for a drive today. There is a 100 year old bridge in the next county so decided it would be a good 80 mile round trip. From what I've read, it was moved to it's current location in the 1930's. The bridge from abutment to abutment is a little over 400 feet. Supposedly, it on a list to be replaced. Notice the cowl vent and vent windows are open. It finally warmed into the 80's here in southwest MO, I bought this car in 1972. Swapped out the original drive train with a 1957 6 cyl, three speed and differential. Bought the overhaul kit from Montgomery and Wards.

Decided to make a thread for getting home safely. We are only a few hours away, but we're very fortunate to have a very boring ride home. Trailer is unhooked. But still need to unload. It was such a great year getting to see so many familiar faces and meeting new friends!

This is part of a collection that belongs to my friend and his son. They are a hard working farming family that has been very successful. I mean these people work nonstop, whatever they have they deserve. I’m not sure how many they have but I know this is not the whole collection. Then they have the tractors that they work with. 99% of them are IH’s too. I think they have around fifty in total. Today I was driving down the road and came across this at one of his locations. Immediately I pulled over and took pictures, to the best of my knowledge this is the first time they have put some out for display. After taking pictures I called him to say thanks for putting them out, it made me happy!! Of course he didn’t answer the phone, probably because he was working! Hope you guys enjoy……..

Another great time at the show. Nice crowd on Wed. night. @Horse Newbie and his brother Dave joined @rjg854 @buckrancher and Jo for dinner at the Italian Village. @wallfish , Van ( @Wheel-N-It ) and Maria arrived later and then the great trailer repair reality show started at @Ken B's trailer. Better get moving boys! We got a deadline! @stevebo's Taj Mahal Thursday started out nice but breezy. A couple of canopies briefly left the chat. Then later it got cloudy quickly and then the rain and wind hit. Didn't get my canopy down in time so we had to hold er down. Randy took one for the team and we managed to salvage the ship. Might be able to repair the frame. But the "Hospitality Tent " lives on for now. Great hanging out with @Achto and @WHX?? and Jeff ( @sqrlgtr) Visits from @rmaynard Van and @wallfish . @Pullstart or @Pullhosen’s Pony Express depending on the wind direction! Fri had @formariz, @AMC RULES and @Mrs. Rules @Jrblanke and @tunahead72 and @Ed Kennell stop by along with a few stragglers. Dude's gotta eat! Clyde, Scrap the Caddy! Horsin around with "Jay" If you order the special at the Sunrise Diner, you better be hungry ! Couple of Circus Bears on Tricycles! Lots of Doggo's at the show!

So I left this morning with one horse, and one wagon, and a shopping list of small parts. I went down to the show, brought the wife along to keep me from buying another tractor. Came home looking like @Pullstart packed me for an overnight trip or something: Found most of the parts I was after, I think the rest of what I tried to round up is not as needed as I originally thought. But I had been looking for a second unit that would work with the attachments I already have, and the wife wanted a bigger yard cart. I found the big one that standing on end in the trailer right behind where I parked my tractor to walk around, and got a smoking deal on it. Then the boy found a Commando 8, running, driving, mowing, with a deck, for a decent price and the wife, who was supposed to keep me from buying tractors, OK'd the purchase. I had a good time though. I got to see some nice tractors, talked to @Pullstart about farms, talked to @Ed Kennellabout dogs, talked to @76c12091520h Brian about houses, and talked to almost nobody about tractors.

About 6 months ago a gentleman contacted me about purchasing this literal barn find C-101. He did so after posting here and many of you fine gentleman said I should be the one for this tractor. It would have been an 8 hour drive one way for me, so after asking for help here on RS @Ed Kennell stepped up and said he would help me. I have to say that if it wasn’t for him I’m not sure this would have happened? So thanks again Ed ! He was kind enough to pick it up, store it in his garage and then bring it to the Big Show for me. This tractor I believe is as close to New Old Stock as you will ever find. The guy I bought it from wasn’t a Wheel Horse guy but knew that it was old and in great condition and he wanted it to go to someone who would take care of it. He actually did find it in a barn he was cleaning out with his coworker who said that it belonged to his grandfather. Upon actually seeing it first hand and then driving it, I was amazed! It really was as described, the nubs on the original tires, paint on the muffler, no belt has ever run in the PTO pulley, original seat with not a crack or scuff on it, the paint is still in the shifters where it hits the shifter plate. I am now super happy to be the proud owner of this timepiece. This also completes my collection of the 1978-79 C Series tractors. I’m sorry that I didn’t take pictures of it as soon as I got it home, but basically it was just dirty and dusty. The rear rims had a little rust on them and I purchased a set of ags with nicely painted rims at the show so I switched them out until I repaint the original ones. Don’t worry, I have a new reflector for the one that is missing. I know one of you would pick up on that!! I did a light power washing, compound and wax, here it is!

About six years ago John “Brrly” Campbell told me he had a 603 he would sell me if I could drive up to Toledo, Ohio and get it. i knew John from the time I first met him at the old Mentone Swap Meets we had in early 2000’s . I drive up with my trailer and John took me to a fabulous place his friend had where the 603 was stored! II put a 6 HP Kohler recoil start on the 603. It was a motor I had sitting for about eight years that I bought at the Portland, Indiana swap meet from Marshall Fyffe (IndyWH). A local resident heard I had this 603 and had to have it as it was a model his grandfather had . He showed my a picture with him on it as a child with his grandfather. He offered me a very good amount and I accepted but have since regretted the sale. Again, we can’t keep them all but the memories of people associated with a tractor are significant! John’s friend and his father were Wheel Horse Collectors and had some nice ones and a pretty large RJ contingent! John Campbell was the first to show me a Tombstone weight and weight bracket. He later led the effort to reproduce Tombstone brackets for collectors. John was an iron worker from Iowa. But he was a Wheel Horse guy through and through !

Just thinking back about my 1257, back when I helped my dad get it, back when he had his own place to work on stuff in his garage before moving in a smaller apartment building. I want to say it was the summer of 2009 when my dad got it. Then I took over it in the spring of 2016 when he moved in the building. He took it apart and cleaned it up then painted it before I got it, I put it back together and added/changed some things throughout the years. Definitely a big difference between then and now looking back at a couple old pictures. Next year I really want to make it to the Big Show as things keep coming up every year. I’d really like to meet some of you guys as I’ve learned quite a bit on the forum from everything that’s been posted on here. It’s the friendliest and best forum I’ve ever been on.

My neighbor was pulling drip tape in the sweet corn today when I noticed the brand on the spool. The boys maintain some tension on the spool to keep it from tangling while the horses pull the tape attached to a cultivator.

The Trina Momma's been doing a really cool craft project this past few days. I don't have a specific measurement but that's a kid sized blanket. It comes up to the Trina momma's waist. She had a pattern for the engine. Only. The other three squares are completely freehand knitting!!

It was a fantastic Wheel Horse Show for 2025, even with all the rainy weather we had in the weeks before which is the time most of us get ready for the show the turnout was fantastic! I got to see both Don and Jeff Kane who are the people that started the Annual Wheel Horse Show and make many new friends. For numbers we had a successful year with way over 1,000 Wheel Horses and the parade was only 10 minutes short of the record of 3 hours long on Friday. I thank you all for coming and enjoying the show. Wild Bill Richmond, VA

We left this morning (Wednesday) at 3am and made a few stops along the way. Almost bought a new camper at Camping World in Hamburg but got out before I signed on the dotted line 😂 Then stopped at a really nice car and motorcycle cycle museum in Intercourse, called Barry’s Car Barn. Made it to our Air BNB around 6pm. We will be at the fairgrounds tomorrow morning at 8:45. Here’s my rig loaded up and ready to go!

I found this 520-H (1993) with a 60 inch deck, 48 inch snow blade, Wheel Horse badged plastic wheel weights, chains , hub caps and a set of NOS mower blades. It has a local history and the PO is happy to see it go to a good home. Now there are some issues but i have to look it over. The price was good to be true. I have to say the deck is the heaviest ive ever wrestled around and ive done my share. I thought i was going to blow my back out trying to load it. Second pic shows a much easier method😀.

Well it's be a long time since I have posted here. Life got pretty busy and hectic last couple years but Im still into and working on wheelhorses in my spare time. I have recently started building what I call a C-170 always wanted a C-160 but I think @ebinmaine bought all the ones on the east coast 😂. Anyways here's where im at with this one. Acquired a KT17 and then went though it and bench tested it make sure would run. It did so now it's been mounted to a 73 chassis and the rear of the chassis has been modified to accept a rear wheel horse fuel tank. I also stacked it. I have to wire it all up make a battery box and then body work it paint it and new tires and go through the transmission, but for most part the entire tractor is there not just sorting it out and paint. Hopfuly will be done with this one soon because I have a 417-A for my next project. Never had a hydro wheelhorse so it will be a big learning curve! Hope everyone is doing well!

79 C-101 Pretty much finished up my first and probably last try at restoration , sure is a lot of time and work but fun. The 10hp was just too far gone so opted for a k301 gen start with out shaker . I did a shade tree rebuild on a couple yrs ago. Just needs a decent set of rear tires ,I’ll look for those at the big show coming up. Now time to put it to work !

I'll add painting and drying parts by the wood stove in December and shrinking shafts in the freezer to that list of ways to raise a wifeys temp. Oh, and tanning a bear hide in her bath tub really reached the boiling point. That one cost me a $10K bathroom remodeling job.

Believe it or not it’s been 11 years since we’ve offered RedSquare Hats. By popular demand, I am ordering another batch of hats but things have changed in 11 years, specifically the price. Except for the Camo hat, RedSquare hats are made in the USA, and embroidered in the USA. The Red, Black and Linen Beige hats look like will be in the $28 price point with the Camo coming in at about $23. I haven’t calculated the shipping rates yet, but like last time, will try to keep it as close to actual as possible. I will keep you updated on the progress. https://www.wheelhorseforum.com/store/category/3-redsquare-items/

I spent the day in my flip flops, since Waldo called me the flip flop kid. I figured being near 100 degrees, the lack of PPE, or a shirt, would be for the best. I stayed hydrated and got the trailer unloaded! My biggest prize would have to be the hundred dollar utility trailer, and I pretty much pushed it off the big gooseneck!

Took out the five RJ’s for a breather! My twin granddaughters are going to do some riding today! It all started in 1960 when dad bought a 1958 RJ. ! Now I have five great ones - one for each grandkid if they want one! The RJ’s propelled Wheel Horse into the great company that manufactured these garden tractors. 1958/59 RJs had 22 attachments. IMG_0859.mov Wheel Horse made 24,000. Of them and garbed $2.5 million in profit to be able to build a brand new factory on the South Side of South Bend on Ireland Road!

I did manage to get a picture of @Chrishar and my tractors side by side again. The last time that our two tractors were together was when we made a trade with each other and were swaping parts in a Wal-Mart parking lot in Iowa. After we both put our personal touches on them. Chris's 753 and my 633.

Today my son's scout troop had their big end of year event. Typically you have to be "registered" with the troop (at least have child abuse clearances on file) to attend any over-night event. The end of year celebration is typically a camp out that goes from Friday night into Sunday afteroon, and is one of two over-night events the fathers can attend and stay over-night. They do skits, activities to showcase the outdoor skills they learned that year, and Saturday night is a camp-fire with the end of year award ceremony where they receive the pins, badges, and other awards they earned since January. The end of year ceremony also involves a "bridging" where Trailmen who are advancing levels do a ceremonial walk across a bridge, and the new troop leadership are announced. Due to issues with boys leaving after the Saturday night ceremony and not having enough hands to break camp efficiently the last two years they changed it up a little. Instead of a camp out, the middle and high school aged trailmen setup and ran a carnival type deal for the younger boys and families, which was also used as a fund-raiser for their big bi-annual trip next summer. This one was very exciting for me, because my son finished all his badge work for this year, bridged to the next level, and received his leveling award for the elementary level, the "Timberline Award". This is not something that one just falls into by showing up, it involves a lot of other work outside regular meetings. From the organization's website: So I am really proud of all that he accomplished this year. Unfortuantely I don't have any good pictures from the ceremony that don't have a bunch of other people's kids in them as well, and I don't want to post their faces since I don't have permission. I just have this one of his back when he accepted his Timberline patch:

Well you guys asked so I finally took some pictures tonight. Dad and I have been working on this for months. It was a mess. Pump and cylinder was missing. Rockshaft also. Totally jacked up steering column that was. Belt covers were missing and flimsy tin ones were added. Your typical gas tank and battery location swap so underneath seat was hacked out. Toolbox was hacked and rusted. Big mess but it was grandpas. He purchased tractor jacked up. Motor was swapped with a Briggs at some point. Well here it is today. I have made and fabricated a lot on this tractor so far.

Next was the 1973 10/8 speed. This one is locked up tight! Pulled the shroud…not as nice as the C-81 . Really packed! Found some fur and whatnot was jammed between the starter gear and flywheel, she freed up once that was removed! This one will need more attention before a battery goes in it for sure. But not seized is a win for today

I was original looking for a 1955 RJ that had smooth hood with cast steering wheel but what I found I didn't want or was not for sale. Wondering around the least barn A to Z had a 1967 model 867 that did not look too bad, and the engine ran! The mower deck could use a new shell, but I cut part of my lawn when we got home Saturday. The lights work and that was road tested during the Friday Night Cruise. The tires are original, and I did need to find a few parts before leaving the show like another battery box (Thanks Lane), a correct choke cable (Thanks Daves Parts World) a hood ornament and a new steering wheel center cap ....... and I know where to get a N.O.S. cap. I own a model 1067 and 1267 so I needed a model 867 to complete the set. Wild Bill Richmond, VA

Favorite? Probably from 2013 until about now. I can’t pick the best memory, but ranking at the top would be the friends I’ve made in the last 12 years, the fools I reluctantly accept as friends (), and the journeys we’ve made along the way. I can’t tell how many miles I’ve racked up for these little tractors, or what kind of money I’ve spent. My first Big Show was epic, I never planned to spend the majority of the weekend packing my truck, but that’s what it turned into! Seriously, I thought my truck was full with just Putt Putt! Bringing tractors home to my girls, and seeing them develop motor skills like running a clutch smoothly, backing up well, operating trailers, plows, and such, building confidence along their young way, that’s pretty awesome. It built their ability to do engine swaps on trucks, drive a stick shift Jeep, break stuff, and smile a ton! Their first big show was just as awesome! Watching them cruise around, gather parts, make their tractors their own, and planting that seed that collecting old rusty stuff is ok, has been sweet. They both have summer and winter vehicles, Rylee has a pile of her own tractors, and our driveway looks more like a parking lot with projects! Country life is good clean living, and I don’t mean no dirt. How could I not mention actually shipping a tractor to Bavaria!? A journey of a lifetime, I picked up a 656 in 2018 from the Big Show, and it made it’s way to Michigan, then crated up in 2020 and shipping to Chicago, then Jersey, then The Netherlands, then to Stephan. Meeting my bro face to face last year at the Big Show became a big favorite too. We had a weekend for the memory books! @Racinbob and I had a conversation in 2018 at the hotel one evening. We all have different walks of life. We have different views, responsibilities, ages, health issues. We all have one common interest. Wheel Horses. Quite the bunch has gathered, and it’s pretty rare to find a bad egg! Picture heavy…
