This is a very rare 1978 Wheelhorse C161 twin 8 speed garden tractor. For Sale Made in 1978-1979, these tractors were originally going to be C171's but Kohler had problems with the 17hp twin that was supposed to be used, so wheelhorse put a 16hp briggs and Stratton twin in them. The bonnets were made out of fiberglass to save having to set up expensive tooling so they had a new look but still would fit on the older style frames. These 161 twins are therefore a bit of a cross over model from the old C series unto the new one, with some rather unique features. Here in the UK there is only a handful of these and there can't have been many brought over in the first place, making it a very rare collectors piece and a great little tractor to take to shows. It also comes with a reprint of the 1978 brochure featuring the tractor. It is in full working order apart from the lights which I don't think are properly connected. The engine runs well and starts easily, however the exhaust has seen better days though I have not addressed this as being a V-twin it does sound quite good and has previously been rebuilt. The gearbox selects all gears and goes from high to low easily, also the mower deck has no rust in it at all and cuts grass well. The tyres have been replaced and have seen very little use on them. Both the bonnet and the seat pan are in very good condition, this is very unusual as they are fibreglass and plastic and can easily be broken if not careful. It also still has both its rear light lenses and a recreation of the original front light lens. I have a 314-8 and well taken care of, always maintained and have right around 720hrs. Has a 48in sd decks that is solid with no holes. Has steel/cast wheel weights. All tires hold air and start right up. Does not have any issues. There is also a “used once” plow for the 314-8 and has axle bracket attached. Have some odds and ends also.

My original "inquiry" thread has been frozen but is still viewable, so please refer to it for pictures and descriptions: I've dropped in $800 as a "starting price" for the entire lot. At first I thought it should be a higher number, but as I mentioned I am not looking to get top dollar, I am looking to downsize. My preference is to sell the entire lot, but depending on the interest level I may be willing to sell some things separately, and possibly ship small things. A lot of this is in the "Free Stuff" category, but that mostly applies to someone who wants to buy the tractors and wants all the free stuff along with them. Have a 60” deck and mule drive in nice shape that I’m looking to trade. Have a lot of landscaping and trees so haven’t ever used it, would really like to trade for a walk behind mower, preferably a scag but I know that’s a long shot. Cuts well and spindles spin quietly. Greased and maintained indoors for the four years I've had it. It has developed a hole in the deck near the height adjustment lever, as shown in the pictures. The U-Bolt around the lever is to provide additional support. Still works as it should and cuts nicely. You could weld a patch over the hole if desired. Mule drive came off another tractor but it appears to be in good condition. Cash on pickup on west side of Cincinnati.

Drive belt guard for models like: 1055, 1056, 1075 etc. One that fits a big block engine on a short frame tractor like the guard in the picture below. Thank you guys
