Sparky-(Admin) 19,546 #1 Posted November 25, 2016 Can I get a bit of info on the 633. Were they electric start or pull start? What Kohler did they have...6hp, or 6.25hp or 7 hp? Thanks. Mike.....
rj35hunter 281 #2 Posted November 26, 2016 They were recoil "pull start" and had a Kohler K141 6.3 HP

Shynon 7,435 #4 Posted November 26, 2016 I think the early ones had an updraft carb, and the later ones had the standard Carter

I do know there were problems with intake manifolds breaking and I believe the Kohler "fix" was to install the standard side draft Carter "N" & matching governor lever & link in place of the updraft Tillotson. Earliest versions did have a Fairbanks-Morse recoil vs. the Kohler recoil found on the later models.
new2horses 287 #8 Posted November 26, 2016 Mine, has the tilloston carb. I don't believe there is room for the carter and even the slimmest air cleaner behind the grill. So my question is how would that have been addressed? Thanks, David

Thanks, David David, I have two 633's one with the original tilloston setup and the other was already converted to the Carter carb with normal round metal air filter housing setup. Then to convert to Carter you take off the special elbow then normal setup bolts up like any of the other models.
