Silverado 2 #1 Posted October 27, 2016 Silverado Today 8:27 PM I have a 1990 520-H. I cleaned it about 1 1/2 weeks ago and stayed away from the electrical wires, but I cleaned by the neutral safety switch. The switch is located on the forward and backward shaft. It's 4 months old. The tractor is completely dead. My son directly jumped the solonoid and starter and it cranked the engine. Could it also be the starter relay? Does anybody have any suggestions? maxiblue 352 #2 Posted October 27, 2016 Do you have a neutral safety switch some where on that tractor? Either on a shifter handle or under a seat, or some other place if so just short the wires together and by pass it. This may be one problem other then that I don't know, I don't know any thing about a 520 sorry.
WNYPCRepair 1,875 #3 Posted October 27, 2016 Make sure you didn't accidentally unplug the neutral switch when you cleaned, PTO is off, and you are sitting on the seat. I forget, does the brake have to be on on the 520?

Silverado 2 #8 Posted October 28, 2016 Thanks for all of your help. The problem was in the start relay upon checking the power. I had to assume that the start relay was bad. After tapping it three or four times, the tractor now starts. I will be getting a new start relay in the next few days.
