953 nut 51,682 #1 Posted May 25, 2016 My wife took a tumble a couple of weeks ago and fractured her left humerus near the shoulder, it hasn't healed well and surgery is needed. At 2:00 pm tomorrow she will undergo surgery to have a Reverse Shoulder Prosthesis installed. The physician that will perform the operation is one of the team members who developed this device and teaches the technique to other surgeons, so we know we are in good hands. The hospital has a wonderful record regarding infection control and is the one where I had my spinal surgery last year so we are comfortable there too. We would appreciate your prayer for the skill of the medical staff that will attend to Maggie's needs in the coming days and a successful outcome with as little pain as possible. With God's help this will be a positive experience. Thank you for your prayers.

wrightorchid 261 #11 Posted May 25, 2016 Prayers your way, for all involved. My wife had a total knee replacement and it was pretty involved. Her surgeon also taught the procedures. The rehab is critical, as I am sure you already know. Keep a chart to track meds, as it make it easier, if various types. I hope all goes well, and back to normal soon.

Zeek 2,284 #23 Posted May 26, 2016 Well, for what it's worth, my mother fell off a step ladder a few years ago and broke her arm/shoulder in the same location and now has an artificial joint there. She did very well, and although she can't juggle like she used to, she is pretty normal. Hope all goes well
