When did the swept forward front axles go into production on the 520's, I think 88/89 but I was told last night that it was in 90. So when was it?

The '88/'89 520-HC had the swept axle only. The '90 520-H had the swept axle only as well. In 1991-on, the 520-H had the swept axle and steering reduction.

Elliot I was thinking gear reduction came out in 90 but it looks like 91. I Also thought the swept axle came out in 90.

My 90 is forward axle but no gear reduction. Also, 90 is the first year with Toro badges.

@shallowwatersailor is dead on. Same thing he said rephrased:

1988/1989 520H - straight axle, standard steering
1988/1989 520HC - swept axle, std steering

1990 520H - swept axle, std steering

1991+ 520H - swept axle, gear reduction steering

My '90 520-8 has the swept forward axle.  I do like the ride.

Didn't like the TORO steering wheel center, gone.
Hated the 20 hp Onan screen center, history.
The hood and rear fender "T" decals, bye. Thanks Terry!
Added "bling" to the muffler.

Not shown but found a new 48" SD deck and with a new mule drive.
