NEED CARB HELP!!! on a 655 Wheel Horse

Recommended Posts

JPeoples

I have a 655 Wheel Horse with a Tecumseh engine and it had sat for a couple years before I bought it. My buddy said he could clean and rebuild the carb for me. Well when he did it he didn't adjust it right and now I cant get it adjusted right either. I will run fine if I keep spraying gas into the carb but it can't run on its own. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to adjust the carburetor or give me a good reference to figure it out.

If its acting like its not getting enough fuel like having to hold the choke on or spraying fuel in it to keep it running you need more fuel so unscrew the screw on the bottom of the bowel in small adjustments till it runs on its own and make sure the fuel is getting to the carb

It does act like its not getting enough fuel and I have done that, but once I get it to were it can run with the screw at the bottom of the bowl when I try to turn the deck on it stalls out and i think it is because I don't have the other screw adjusted right either

If you get the engine running smoothly and engaging the deck causes it to stall you might be having problems with a safety switch. Not familiar with that tractor but just a thought.

I’m looking for wheel horse tractors for sale or for parts in the Eastern Nebraska or western Iowa area. Preferably 8 speed manuals. Pm me or comment with what you have. The worst I could say is it’s out of my price or distance range.
      Thanks,
      John

Finally got around to checking this 1965 wheel horse 655. Serial # 133946. I got this over a year ago in a "Bundle" trailer load of other items. The Tecky H60 had imploded, rod, camshaft, internals like "chicken bones" bearing lobe on block broken off , etc. etc. So I also got most of a K181 basket case S/G engine with parts. Decided this one was too nice to part out or scrap so I checked engine and it looked pretty good with only governor shaft flag and counterweight broken internally. Long story short it spec' ed well and I completely rebuilt. It had the two-piece ASA cam and was a bit of a challenge but all went well. Took the Tecky out and put the Kohler in, new boot and flushed trans, new gear oil and it runs and drives. Definitely needs some "LOVE" but would be a great worker. Everything but seat is there. Mounted Tecky gas tank under hood. New regulator, re-built starter/gen .Will place in classifieds and high probability will be coming to "BIG SHOW" for first time from FL. Anyway enjoy pics. Also have a lot of Tecky parts that I would donate to anyone so inclined.

I am selling a 1970 Wheel Horse Electro 12. It is in *working condition*.
It has AG tires and a mid-mount blade from wheel horse.
It also has a front mounted generator that currently doesnt put out power. It has been in the barn quite a while, so it may be a corroded connection,  not sure. Although there's not too much that goes wrong with them.
The tractor has been a great one for me. The last 6ish 7ish years that I've had it where I lived it brought the gravel back up my driveway for me every time it rained. In the last few months, it would run for 20-30min then die.
I was moving at the time so just didn't have the time to look at it. And it seems I still don't. Where I am currently I don't have a place for it. I don't want it setting out and deteriorating. So here we are.
Please contact me by text or email.
      Thanks for looking!
