Shynon 7,435 #1 Posted April 6, 2014 I am on a quest for an enclosed trailer. I started looking for a 6x14 but was told 5 tractors would be too much weight. So next was a 7x14 tandem axle, I figure I can get 5 in, for a couple hundred more I could go 7x16 and get 6 plus attachments. Main use will be for storage, also going to shows with a place to sleep. Most used trailers here are overpriced or pretty rusty. Confusion is starting to set in, want to do it right the first time. Show me what you are using. Thanks Tom
stevebo-(Moderator) 8,040 #2 Posted April 7, 2014 This is my hauler/storage trailer that I fixed up last year. I added the loft style bed and it works nice. I am able to get a few tractors in under it when hauling and then I can drop it down for sleeping. It originally had barn doors but I fabricated the fold down. I am able to haul 4 round hoods in it with no problem.

truckin88 104 #8 Posted April 7, 2014 (edited) I am currently in the market for a 6.5x12 open landscape. And I have looked all over craigslist, and the used prices are nuts. The used ones around here are rusty, bent, beat up, need tires, and possibly bearings. I am buying new, from a dealer not a big box, the dealers are within $100-$150 of the big box for a better built trailer, and they do the tags and state inspection there so when you leave no going to DMV, you are ready to go. Also The new are only about $300-$400 over used. Which if a used trailer needs tires is worth going new Shop around dealers are willing to deal. Currently looking at sure trac, big tex and cross country. Edited April 8, 2014 by truckin88

stevebo-(Moderator) 8,040 #10 Posted April 7, 2014 When I bought my enclosed I needed to sell the smaller 5x8 TSC trailer to help pay for the repairs to the enclosed. I knew that I would need an open trailer for winter use since I cannot get the enclosed out where I store it during the winter plus I use it for storage of some of my tractors. I went a few weeks ago to TSC and picked up a nice 6x8 ft open trailer. It came with the decking and fold down gate. What I like about this one is that the extra foot on the sides allows me to fit three roundies sideways and not have to go crazy wedging them in. The other nice part about this one is the top rail if you will is rounded and not angle. I cannot tell you how many times that I cut the tie downs from rubbing on the angle. I have used that trailer more in the last few weeks than I would have the enclosed. Both have a great purpose and if you can swing it I would try to have one of each. jimt1971 236 #19 Posted April 28, 2014 Mine is a 8 x 28. It can haul 8 C series tractors. has A/C and fold down beds form the walls. But with a trailer that big you need a big truck to pull it.
6wheeler 586 #20 Posted April 28, 2014 Tom, I mooched a friend of mines 24' trailer last year. It held 6 sleds, easily. He wanted it for 2 sleds. I used it to move some large things and he destroyed my walk behind tiller as rent. But, I didn't like that like that tiller anyway.Anyway, We made the rear 12' long so it would be big enuff for 2 sleds and built the rest for sleeping in. Also put LED lights in rear so we could work on a sled if needed. The front was made into a double bed and the ride out will still work for a patio. 2 person table and 2fold down benches by the table. And, a porti-potty opposite of the table (enclosed).. It works. Even for sledding. He found a little lp. heater for the front. If we open the door, it heats the back too. He is looking for an RV type AC for it as well.
