:woohoo:   I have a '48 Ford F1 pick up that I bought in '85 and drove localy with the old flat head for a couple of years. Didn't dare go on long trips with it so in '87 I street rodded it and hav put on over 100K miles since. :text-bravo:

Your choice, but I would put in a later model drive train and hit the road.

It would be soooo Koool to have a weathered looking :wh: Dealer Sign painted on the doors.

:text-coolphotos:   Thanks for posting them.   :text-goodpost:

Very nice piece of automobile history.

Is that a 5 or 7 window?

Our local dentist has a '53 and put over $15,000 into his for restoration.

I helped pay for the restoration with the purchase of several root canals and crowns! :ROTF:

My grandfather who lived in SE Missouri had a truck about that year whe I was about 5 or 6 yo.He made a cover out of corrugated tin and 2X4's.He would take me with him out to the cotton fields and sell iced down soda pop.He had a little two borner gas hot plate and would fry hamburgers. Grandpa always found a way to make a few dollars. He also sold bottle gas,he would deliver and hook up.He had a little country store with a lean to on the side where he sold used furniture

He's been gone since 1970,but that old truck of yours shook those memories loose.

Nice truck, Steve. You can't beat those old Chevys. Gotta Love the heater hanging under the dash, it's been a long time since I've seen one of those.

fly- the memories is what it is all about !! My grandfather used to have a 1946 Chevy 3100. I thought it was either a 46 or 49 (I could not remember) until I spoke with my uncle bo on the way to pick this up using his car dolly. If my old man were still around he would have been riding shot gun right next to me!

Straight six and three on the tree, it doesn't get any more farm truck than that!  :happy-jumpeveryone:

Sorry Steve didnt mean to hijack  the thread with pics of My truck , but i think yours is absolutley wonderful . so if you would like to swap yours with my brand new one i will start to organise the shipping  right now .& if you are deside quickly you may even get it before Christmas .

seriously though , i bought this Model only last week off Ebay . as you can see from the box they are part of a collection .

Yours looks  great & im sure you are gonna have some fun getting her up & running ,  I thing Mrs Bo is gonna miss you this winter  as i think you will be spending quite a bit of time in your  new/vintage  gas station

I shall look forward to the progress on this project

 Best of luck with it

Neil
