Going tomorrow to look at a late model KT-17. It has the stainless muffler and chrome air cleaner. It's off a WH. I've been looking for a replacement motor for my C105. Has anyone here did this swap before. Bigger question is will this motor work on this tractor? The original motor was cradle mounted, I'm guessing the KT-17 would get bolted directly to the frame. Are their any show stoppers in using this engine or should I keep looking for a single slug for a replacement?

C 175s used a cradle (shaker) mount. is it a series 2 motor ??? Choke and throttle cables may be an issue as may the PTO hoop.
Edit some more thoughts....I converted a C81 to a C175 but used the chrome muffler from 417. I changed the hood and hood stand on the C81 to make it like a C85/175 but the muffler would not clear the hood. Had to modify the front hood hinges to raise the hood and there are some issues with the engine shrouds What model WH is your motor coming from?

Good choice on finding a single lung. I have a C-175 that my grandfather bought brand new. The Kt-17 is an awesome sounding engine, but problematic. They have been known to throw rods out the side of the block. The series 2 may be better as I think they are pressure lube. Find youself a nice K341. You will have all the power and reliability needed.
