Put the belt on correctly and it shouldn't hit the axle:

Hey HorseNUT:

It looks like the belt is touching the axle.

Is it just my eyes?

Could be the angle coupled with the short focal length GoPro HD cam...it is 2" safely above the axle...

the routing of the belt was critical...

Thanks Varosd...but not yet, I don't have the chute on...and for my house, I cannot use the Torq (tractor is to rare to use), so I'd be relegated to doing the blowing with a 222 because the Onan in the 446 has a busted rod...I have the rod I just haven't had time to get it in place...so if the 'white stuff' holds off for another 2 weeks it won't break my heart...and I don't have a blower for any of my speedexes...

Probably a "typo" but do I see a reference to 2 p/n's?.....9750 and 9570....the 69" belt works fine on my thrower but it is a Wheel Horse belt.....not an automotive belt.

The belt on this is a 69x5/8 kevlar belt. so long as the dimensions are the same and the tensile strength isn't exceeded I think it'd be ok. That said, I believe this belt would work just fine...I have had excellent results using the kevlar belts from TSC on many 'other' applications...if not I'll replace it, the belt is $20
