A place to relax

Recommended Posts

kj4kicks

When the trio came to visit a few weeks ago, they noticed the Koi pond in my back yard. While I had the camera out today, I got a few new pics.

We built this over the course of 3 years, and in 3 different sections. The second phase included the new deck and bridge. It's soon time for it to grow again, so I wanted to document it as it sits. The largest Koi is 22" and about 6 years old.He was about 4" when we got him. About half of the fish were "free", meaning they born here.

It's a very relaxing place to have my morning coffee, when I take the time....

Its really funny how our lifes intertwine and how many of us like many of the same things. Eldon Nice pond  I have a Koi pond also, Yes, and I see you have some biological filtration going thru those water lillies and water plants! Nice, I will find some pics of my pond and post them later! Cheers Duke

So far we've been lucky. There is a tree that covers a large portion of it, so I don't think the fisheaters can see it too well (knock on wood smilie)

Stephen, these guys will nibble on anything that is in their water, so I'd be careful swimming there

Don't worry TT. Next time I'll clean the filters before I leave, so I can stay a little longer!

Thanks guys for the comps ! Can't wait to see pics of your pond Duke.

I wonder if my cats would eat or be eaten by the big ones. Either way im sure they would watch hypnotised for hours. :WRS:

Stephen, the closest gator pond to me isn't mine. Of course, I have spent many summers fishing there!

Why does it not surprise me that a man who does such good work on a Wheel Horse also exhibit great talent in other areas as well?

I'm such a cobbler compared to Eldon!
