Dans414-8 Fuel Filter 414-8 question

For some reason the new to me 414-8 DOES not  have any fuel filter  Did they have them off the factory set up

Where is the best place to put one  under hood or at the rear of the tank

a metal one or plastic one

ALSO  while at LOWES  they have those new sparkplugs in the green packaging.

They have the wider  Electron  bottom instead of the usual type (where you set the gap at)

I forget what company

SO..... Stick with the champion or go for it or another know dependable plug you guys have found  ..

thanks again guys ....daniel aka dans414-8

It should have one up near the engine side under the hood. Where you personally put it shouldn't matter too much though... as long as you put it in in the correct direction for flow. :eusa-think:

I use both metal and plastic. I happen to like the plastic because I can see the fuel flowing through...

I think the spark plugs in the green package are E3...

I would NOT recommend using those. Just buy a good o'le dependable champion.

If you wanted to upgrade... I would recommend an autolite... but that is totally unnecessary in your case.

The 414, being a cousin to my C81 probably has a strainer filter in the tank shut-off - and they DO plug up over time...
