ANTPER 208 #1 Posted July 6, 2022 Hello Folks Just made a turn around a boulder on property edge. As I'm turning right my left front tire caught edge of boulder so it bent around way left as other tire way right! I didn't react quickly enough to stop. SOO the weld that holds the spindle to the steering arm link is broken. I'm sure I can get it welded but trying factor the whole replacement vs just having welded up. Any know the part number of replacement so I can hunt around? Its left side and I have the 37inch side discharge deck with 6 inch wheels. Thanks in advance. ri702bill 9,404 #2 Posted July 6, 2022 (edited) Anthony: You can download both the parts manual for your model of tractor and the one for your deck for free here in the Manuals section. Parts manuals have the exploded pictures and the WH part numbers. A word of caution - even if you reweld the spindle arm in the exact spot it was, unless you have adustable length tierods, you may not like the result if either the arm itself or other parts are bent... gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,472 #3 Posted July 6, 2022 Look for the IPL or TIPL for your model year on these 5 pages - (IPL = illustrated parts list or TIPL Toro illustrated parts list which is not the best) https://www.wheelhorseforum.com/search/?&q=310-8&type=downloads_file&search_and_or=or&sortby=relevancy

Bill Well I rolled the dice and got nicely welded but>>> The spindle shaft that goes into the front suspension arm doesn't sit flush to keep a nice tight grease seal plus the left wheel is going a tad left when other is straight. Guess I'll do some spindle hunting.

gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,472 #9 Posted July 11, 2022 The flat stock that breaks off often also gets twisted. It does not take much to affect the toe-in. An adjustable wrench can be used to fine tune it.

gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,472 #12 Posted July 13, 2022 Use the wrench to twist the flat bar. With the tie rod bolt entering the flat bar from the top it does not take much of a twist to make a big change in the toein.
clueless 3,232 #13 Posted July 13, 2022 You can still buy the OEM spindle: Left: Toro# 113379, Right: Toro# 113380, about $60 each. I know some will say that's to expensive but is it really, unless you break it again it will last as long as the tractor does.
