Brockport Bill 1,933 #1 Posted June 24, 2022 was the original 1980 seat pan for the C165 the "deep seat pan" ---- or the "traditional shallow" seat pan on the 80's 90's 300 and 400 etc series? the photo on the C165 diagram pages show a deep seat pan -- wanted to know if that's what is believed to be correct? Maybe that's what you see ... they were deeper than the metal ones. My 175 has the shallow 300 series metal pan on it.

My 175 has the shallow 300 series metal pan on it. hey Jeff - thanks -- we have two of the 175's right now -- and putting some time and maintenance in both to be good running machines -- A '80 Series 1, and a '83 Series II ------we also recently got a 165 that had been one of those abandoned parked in the back yard orphans - we have 2 of the deep seat plastic seats to put on the 175's but wasn't so sure what was the original seats for the 165?? ......... the 165 is the single cyl Kohler from '80 -- so wasn't sure what seat - it had a shallow pan steel seat when we got it but we were thinking it had been put on the 165 at later date --likely due to broken plastic original -- we are not doing a full restore to the 175s or 165 but trying to maybe match up the seat pans to what they originally had ? At one point perhaps on the RS forum i recall somewhere someone saying a customer could ask for either seat from the dealer - perhaps in response to so many broken plastic deep seat pan issues?
