rjhutson 7 #1 Posted June 12, 2022 I installed a new drive belt and tensioner pulley. The belt is 82". When releasing the clutch peddle it starts to engage immediately. It has always done this since new. I have a 315/8 the clutch starts to engage about 1/2 way when releasing the clutch peddle. I tried adjusting the clutch rod and it didnt help. I havent seen any adjustment on tensioner? Not sure what my next step would be?
peter lena 9,233 #2 Posted June 12, 2022 @rjhutson how about lubricating all the related linkage areas , are they rusty ? ever greased the clutch pedal ? also lubricate the drive belt idler pulley shaft area that goes into the transmission , lift lever area , make the rust run out . any part of that linkage thats rusty or stiff should be checked out for function , get a helper to work the linkage so you can verify its easy function . do you have a small pull back cylinder on this clutch tension set up ? they typically fail . and you can just use the linkage spring , also lubricate that on each end , for no binding action . check out how it works or doesn't . bet its rust related , pete
rjhutson 7 #3 Posted June 13, 2022 Thanks for the great information. I will lubricate everything mentioned and check its operation. I always have lubed the clutch pedal.
