need part numbers

On my 79 C-161 the deck may need new bearings on middle spindle. I have no ID tag on the deck, and on Toro's part finder site says with that tractor is model # 95-42MS00. But there is no parts list or diagram on it that I can find. So lets just say that the deck is original 42" and probably a typical model deck for most tractors. Does anyone have a parts manual with the bearing numbers :ychain: Can you get them cheaper somewhere other than Toro? :thumbs2:

I have only seen a few, so I cannot say for sure, but I have seen three types of spindles.

1) Light grey aluminum or magnesium spindles. These have a ball bearing at the top and a needle bearing below. These are bolted to the deck using a carriage bolt and a nut at the bottom. Top and bottom of the shaft have "double D" profile.

These are my favorite as the are easy to repair.

2a) Cast steel spindles with a sealed bearing assembly that is pressed in. There is no way to rebuild these short of replacing the assembly. These are bolted to the deck using a bolt from the top threaded into the spindle housing itself. Top and bottom of the shaft have "double D" profile.

2b) Same as 2 B except for the shaft. These have 3/4 inches shafts that are externally threaded to accept a single nut to hold the blade on. I am not sure what the top of the shaft looks like.

I hope this helps
