plowmaster 0 #1 Posted July 5, 2009 got this little tractor about a month ago, it was pretty clean, well taken care of and i liked the seat. the hood hinge has cracked the hood plastic a bit, and it was repaired across the back where it cracked also, not real obvious. it started and mowed good, i needed a mower at the time so i gave him what he wanted for it, 100 bucks. its got original rear tires in good shape (hold air, some minor sidewall cracking) witch will work good for the front of the charger 12. im not sure how much work i want to put into it, as it has been repainted, theres a slight clunk in the rear after i lift the clutch, and its just a bit too small for keeping after four or so acres of "lawn". it also cuts waaaay too short, i mow with the deck all the way up. if i decide to keep it i would like to put bigger rims and tires on it, as i think that might be the easiest way to lift it, and i want the rears for the charger anyway. it certianly needs to cut higher, and theres not much room for adjustment under the floorboards. ill also need to diagnose the clunk, it will pop out of gear seldomly, fix the belt problems ive been having and it should make for a nice little mower for up to camp. thanks for looking. P.S i dont think i seen one in the photo gallery, should i post pics there? this is a 1970 model, anyone know the HP?
WHC-125 4 #2 Posted July 5, 2009 Looks like a clean little horse. And I am pretty sure it is a 8 horse Tecumseh.
plowmaster 0 #3 Posted July 5, 2009 too bad about the melted plastic horse headlight panel, i think it may have been the result of running it without the exhaust heat sheild. did this tractor share any parts with other horses? i see i forgot to put the red center caps back on. plowmaster 0 #7 Posted July 5, 2009 i think these tractors were made to mow from the curb to the sidewalk, then from the sidewalk to the front porch, and thats it. the neighbor who lives two feet from you on the left has a baby deere, and the neighbor who lives on the right has a baby cub. you spend too much time on it and your back starts to remind you to keep looking for engines for your larger tractors. i guess now i can do a little digging on the tranny.
