Jeff-C175 7,206 #2 Posted May 31, 2022 (edited) You've got a bad safety switch. Likely the seat switch. You are sitting on it, right? Is this a 'new to you' machine? @RedTomato56 Edited May 31, 2022 by Jeff-C175
lynnmor 7,813 #3 Posted May 31, 2022 Agree with Jeff, likely the safety system. To rule out things mechanical, remove the belt from the PTO and try again.

Ok the seat safety was by passed before i bought the tractor so no Iam not setting on it but when I was still did the same thing must be a safety some where I guess I will look at a wiring diagram and check. It does start to spin but only for a second so I think there is a safety some where that that is undone.

It appears that the only thing it can really be in this case is the seat switch. BUT... it's also possible that the PTO switch is not making good contact. The "OFF" contact may be OK, but the "ON" contact (or wiring) could be cruddy. Edited May 31, 2022 by Jeff-C175
