snowhound 105 #1 Posted May 27, 2022 Witn a 3amp charging system what voltage should I have at the battery?
ebinmaine 71,812 #2 Posted May 27, 2022 (edited) I'm not specifically familiar with the 3 amp charging system having had only 15s here that I've worked on. I'm going to put in my guess that you still should have somewhere around 13.8 volts with the engine running at full throttle. squonk 43,357 #3 Posted May 27, 2022 You better be in the mid to high 13's at least with it fully charged and running.

snowhound 105 #8 Posted May 27, 2022 Thanks for all the replies. I'm only getting 12.68 so I guess I need to do some more research on what would be causing the low reading
pfrederi 18,558 #9 Posted May 27, 2022 Kohler manual is your friend. At 3000 RPM a voltage of more than 12.5 means system is operating properly.
squonk 43,357 #10 Posted May 27, 2022 Considering 12.5 volts is 75% charged, that isn't much of a charging system.
