Tgalo 118 #1 Posted May 21, 2022 Hi all, hoping someone can help. Been chasing this problem for a while now. When I first start my 520 all dash light are normal. After a few minutes all the lights come on and the oil light flashes. I replaced the ignition switch but problem still there. Any other ideas? Thanks, Tony
nylyon-(Admin) 7,866 #2 Posted May 21, 2022 Maybe check the test switch when it happens, open would be ok, closed and the switch is suspect

On the late 80's 520's the light switch and test switch were symmetrically placed on opposite sides of the the indicator lamp panel. Was yours modified? Tgalo 118 #5 Posted May 22, 2022 (edited) I don't believe so. It's a 94 so maybe thats why? I think Im going to replace the plug to the ignition switch. Looks pretty bad. Edited May 22, 2022 by Tgalo
nylyon-(Admin) 7,866 #6 Posted May 22, 2022 Reading the OM, the lights go through a self test when the key is turned on. Makes me wonder if there’s a bad connection, or a malfunctioning circuit board running the self test.

cleat 7,168 #8 Posted May 22, 2022 I noticed that some of my 520's when I first got them had a lot of crud on the indicator light board. You could try pulling it out and cleaning it. It is held in by 2 phillips head screws from behind.

Is that a standard plug?
