another horse for the herd

to all of the guys that set replies back as to the correct size motor on the one that was picked up yesterday I want to thank you guys as today I was able to find the model number on the shroud ;it is HH80-110112D ;I am not sure if that D is in fact correct as it faded though it could be a 0  so if I am correct here it is a 8 horse ;in time it will be up and running as the seller used a car battery to get it to start but it only ran on the spray from a bottle but that is good ;and he did tell me that the carb will need to be rebuilt ;odd really that in the 2nd picture you can see he made a box to hold the battery in but that is going to be removed ;people do funny things at times ;as he has the ground side attached to the rear frame and the hot wire to the rectifier not sure if that should be that way; the thing is to get the motor to start and stay running that's the plan but as we know Rome wasn't built in a day

the thing is that I bought it thinking I could use that motor in my charger 10 which is still giving me issues but that would look a little odd a 8 horse on a charger 10 so I might just to have to leave it as it is and get it running and mow with it  again thanks guys

Yep, HH80 is an 8 hp engine. HH indicates it is a heavier duty model that was usual for the larger WH tractors. Depending on what you want to use your tractor for, 8hp may be an adequate engine.

I'm not aware of any Wheelhorse tractors that used the Tecumseh 8 HP engines.

Seems to me I'd leave that tractor as a whole and FIX the engine in the 10 horse.  Not replace it.

If it runs with a spray of gas it'll run on its own somehow.

Good luck with this new one.

thanks as I thought it was and yep that is for sure a heavy duty model as well as my B-80 with a Kohler 8 horse ;it will be a nice ride once I get it up and running and having the carb rebuilt

thanks and really I don't know if some where in the past the motor was changed but still it a horse a wheel horse of course and you are correct fix the 10 ;besides it wouldn't look to good with a 8 horse sitting on a 10 horse and for it will run on its own just needs some tinkering

Very cool.

Does this match the tractor numbers?
