Stigian 1,234 #1 Posted February 7, 2008 This may be a daft question guys, but how do i tell which year my 312-8 was made I cant find a plate anywhere with model and serial number Are they hidden in places only known to the people that made it? It looks like Mikes 1989 model in the gallery, so im guessing thats what year it was made :D
TT-(Moderator) 1,129 #2 Posted February 7, 2008 My 1986 had a sticker just ahead of the seat on top the fender. The numbers are printed on the sticker with bad ink (I guess) and by now, if the sticker is still there, you probably couldn't read the numbers anyway. In the late 80's the sticker was moved under the left edge of the seat, but still on the top of the fender. They were printed on a base sticker and covered with a clear protective sticker. It the sticker saw much sun, they fade and can't be read either! This is what it should look like (this is from a 1990 520 8-speed)
kpinnc 10,980 #3 Posted February 7, 2008 My 87 310-8 had it under the seat in the back. It should be on the fender pan somewhere... Kevin
Buzz 502 #4 Posted February 8, 2008 If you post all of the numbers off the engine we might be able to identify it that way.

T-Mo-(Moderator) 4,350 #6 Posted February 9, 2008 Ian, It sounds like whoever painted your 312 painted my C-141. Nothing was spared from the red paint.
