Try a Google search for "Onan P220 starter"

Could also try https://a-ztractor.com/ to see if he might have a used one for sale.

I rebuild all my starters, if not burned out of course.  New bearings, brushes, clean everything. Where I live, those starters are untraceable, or I must have them imported from the USA which will cost me at least $280.

Quite the opposite over here; new, used, aftermarket are readily available.  I wish that the parts were easy to find so that the original starter can be refreshed.  The cheap aftermarket starters are poor quality and the OEM starters are very expensive.

If I'm not mistaken, go to Toro.com and find the exploded, view of Onan P220g engine, find the exact toro part number, then go to ebay, type in toro OEM starter part # the last time I looked, they offer some "aftermarket" starters about half the price, probably from China. Don't know quality, but everything, I have ever bought, that was made in China, is very inferior quality. I don't think, it's because, "they don't know, how,"  to make a good product. its because. They know, if they make a product, that lasts, you won't have to buy another next year. There is always, a component, in the assembly, that is designed, to fail, forcing you to buy, a complete new unit. Gone are the days, of American pride when we made are own products, that were designed, to last  25 years. My 1996 520H, is 25 years old, and still has most of the original parts, including the starter. Another suggestion is take the Toro starter to a automobile machine shop, that rebuilds, starters and alternators, they can probably rebuild it, It won't last as long as the original Toro OEM starter, but i'd bet, it will last, at least, twice as long, as the China starter. China motto is design it to fail, in a year, or so, especially, if the OEM is obsolete, you have no choice, but to buy, more junk!

Contact me via PM. I have a starter from a 416-8. Should be the same.

You can also search in your area for starter rebuilds. If you find one, they can be rebuilt fairly cheap.
