squonk 43,794 #2 Posted April 16, 2022 Your piston is eroded away at the edge towards the exhaust valve. If your pooling oil just cranking it you probably need the cylinder bored. Don't waste your time and money throwing just rings at it. 4 1

squonk 43,794 #4 Posted April 16, 2022 You need to have the bore checked for wear and out of round. Especially if it's pushing that much oil. Just slamming a piston and rings may work for a little while but you'll end up right back to where you are now 2
clueless 3,233 #5 Posted April 16, 2022 Replacing the piston and ring and honing may help but it's probably just a bandaid.

rjg854 12,181 #7 Posted April 16, 2022 Looks aren't enough, machining may be required if you want to get a lifetime's use out of your engine. This is not the place to scimp. It's your call. Do you want it to last or do want to do it all over again
