rhulette 0 #1 Posted April 9, 2022 So, for this season, I decided that it was time to replace the front flange steering bearing. All was going well until I took out the 2 bolts on the lower steering support. To my surprise, one of the ears had snapped off some time ago. This machine was a hand me down from 2 BILs who were not so kind to it, including one who accidentally drove it into a tree. I suspect that's where the trauma occurred, but it's been bolted down tight and working fine. Can someone recommend a parts guy who would have one or anyone have one sitting on the shelf? I can still get the brass bushing for it, so that's not a problem. Thanks! Randy

ri702bill 9,511 #5 Posted April 9, 2022 Randy - was the tractor ever used for snow plowing?? If so, that puts a LOT of twist and vibration into the frame - the casting does not bend... Bill
rhulette 0 #6 Posted April 10, 2022 Bill, My BIL ran the snowblower attachment on it for years and he drove it like it was a D8! I got rid of the blower attachment and bought a plow, but it's just for the light stuff. I fire up my Yanmar 186-D with a bucket for anything over 6 inches.
